The collection consists of legal documents from the files of Cleburne E. Gregory pertaining to Georgia court cases regarding the 1946 two governor controversy and the legality of the county unit system from 1946-1947. The two governors case involved M.E. Thompson, Ellis Arnall, and Herman Talmadge in the 1946 battle for governor and the county unit case in which an attempt was made to overturn the county unit system. Includes briefs and research notes prepared by attorneys involved in the cases, reports of fees and expenses, affidavits, general correspondence, and masterfiles of all papers submitted to the courts.
